This satire really caught my attention. I thought it was hilarious that everyone was freaking out about Canada having a warship and a couple weapons. Other countries have weapons of mass destruction and we’re worried about Canada. HAHA!

My Satire
The war against terrorism in Iraq is going nowhere. All these Americans are dieing for another countries freedom. But wait a second there’s a possible civil war starting over there. So we’re losing all these Americans for Iraq’s freedom, which might not be there in a few months. What a great idea.
Well I got another one, let’s open up the draft and send more American’s over to stop the civil war. I think that’s a good idea… NOT!!! But seriously the two groups in Iraq, the Sunnis and the Shi’ites, also have holds on other countries. If those two go to war other countries could become involved which could lead to World War III. Wouldn’t we be proud of ourselves knowing we had something to do with the start of a world war, I know I would.
I believe America has done enough over there. The only thing that bothers me is Osama Bin Laden not being caught yet. But that has nothing to do with Iraq. So I say lets pull our troops out of Iraq and let Iraq deal with their own problems.

I think that your satire has a lot of very good points in it, but it is written too much as your opinion. If I would change anything I think it needs to be more sarcastic. I am not one to judge on grammar, mine is terrible. All in all the only thing that i think needs changed is the tone you wrote it in. It seems more like an essay about your anger then a satire.

I know my writing is not a satire. It is way to opinionated. I would like to thank Artemis for pointing that out so I could get a jump on working on a better satire. Instead of talking about the wars I will be sarcastic about supporting the civil war.

Wouldn’t it be great if the Shi’ites and the Sunnis would go to war. These two groups in the Middle East are going at each others throats. All those people dieing for nothing. Hey we have Americans over there too, they’ll be involved. Yay.
How about this leads to World War III. I always dreamed of the day another World War would break out. And i’ll be alive to witness it, how awesome is that.
Even if the war does happen we have nothing to worry about. Us as Americans could just re-open the draft and send more of us over to fight and be killed. AT LEAST WE KEEP OUR FREEDOM.

This draft of your satire is a lot more “satire” like. Again.. i won’t nit pick at grammar.. as you can already tell.. mine is terrible. One suggestion for this draft is to go a little more into depth about your ideas. It is a little short. The point you are making definately gets across, but a little more detail may really help.

Wouldn’t it be great if the Sheetz and the Sony’s would begin an all-out civil war. These two groups are already going at one another’s throats. One attacks the others churches and the ones who had their church blown to pieces retaliates and blows up another building filled with the other. And while this is all going on we have American men and women over there dieing because of the hatred between these two groups.
Well I’m glad us as Americans don’t have too much to worry about. If worse comes to worse all we have to do is open the draft and send more people over. Not too bad of an idea since everyone was looking forward to the reopening of the draft anyways. And what’s a few American lives to try and save these two groups from wiping each other away.
But we are America, the land that has never lost a war. So how could we back out of Iraq now. I mean this could ultimately begin World War III. How would we be able to live with ourselves if we weren’t involved with the next World War somehow.
The world is in a very interesting state right now. I know we’re not the only nation being affected by these two groups, or the war in Iraq somehow. It’s best just to sit back and watch people die. As long as no one important dies with them. I’m sure that when the time comes our leader and the leaders of many other countries will know exactly what to do. I just hope they’re not to late.
